Schools around the world are invited to be part of New Zealand's World Environment Day.

This year New Zealand is hosting with the United Nations Education Programme (UNEP) World Environment Day . Our schools and early childhood centres are going to be considering climate change and sustainability issues on the 5th, and will be putting a sustainability pledge on the Show the Way Today http://efs.tki.org.nz/wed website.

This might be something like "We are aiming to reduce our power use at our school by 10% by December to help reduce our carbon footprint". All schools of the world are invited to send us their own sustainability pledge which we will put up on the website and reveal on 5th June. We would be delighted with any help to spread the word to schools of this opportunity to contribute to global thinking about our planet and the little things we can do to make a difference.

World Environment Day site: view the webiste at http://efs.tki.org.nz and feel free to email us at edwed@tki.org.nz
